  Mr. Gota Suga (advisor: Tetsuaki Takeda, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering), a second-year master’s student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, received the Best Video Presentation Award at “ASME’s Nuclear Engineering Conference Powered by ICONE 2020” held online on August 4-5, 2020.
  This award is given to students from the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the China Atomic Energy Society, and the British Institute of Mechanical Engineers for their outstanding research and presentation.
  The title of the award-winning paper is “Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow Characteristics of One Side Heated Vertical Rectangular Channel that inserted Thin Metallic Wire.” Mr. Suga reported on the investigation of passive cooling systems by natural convection, and investigated the thermal hydraulics of a metallic wire inserted in a single-sided heated DC channel by experiments and three-dimensional numerical analysis, aiming to apply the passive cooling system to the aftermarket cooling system of a next-generation nuclear reactor.
  Mr. Suga said, “I am very honored to receive this award. I would like to thank Professor Takeda and everyone in my laboratory for their guidance and cooperation. I will continue to put more effort into my research activities in the future. We will continue to focus on our research activities in the future. “

 令和2年8月4日(星期二)~5日(星期三),在Web召开的国际原子能工学会议“ASME’s Nuclear Engineering Conference Powered by ICONE 2020”中,大学院硕士课程工学专业机械工学课程2年级的须贺豪太(指导教师:武田哲明 工学部机械工学系教授)荣获Best Video Presentation Award。
 这是授予从日本机械学会、美国机械学会、中国原子力学会、英国机械学会中的学生中,被选出的优秀研究内容的发表者的奖项。
 获奖论文题目是《Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow Characteristics of One Side Heated Vertical Rectangular Channel that inserted Thin Metallic Wire》。被动冷却系统是为了适用于新一代核反应堆之一的超高温气体反应堆的备用冷却系统,论文报告了将金属细线插入到单面加热的铝直流电路内的导热流动特性,通过实验和三维数值分析进行了调查,报告了利用自然对流的被动式冷却方法。
 获奖的须贺同学说:“我感到非常光荣。衷心感谢给予指导和帮助的武田教授和研究室的各位。我今后也将继续致力于研究活动”。
