On September 11, 2020, the National Institute of Informatics (NII) held an online symposium titled “Cyber Symposium on Sharing Information about Remote Classes from April: Efforts toward Remote and Face-to-Face Hybrid Lectures”, in which Associate Professor Takuji Ooyama of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences gave a lecture.
This symposium was held to share information on preparations for remote learning among many universities in the situation of the spread of the COVID-19.
Associate Professor Ooyama’s presentation was titled “Practical Case at the Novel Coronavirus Epidemic: A Hybrid Approach of Remote and Face-to-Face Classes,” in which he explained how students were divided into several small groups and divided into remote and face-to-face classes, depending on what they had learned.
This case study was selected as the only national university in Japan to be included in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s website as a good example of countermeasures against the COVID-19 in universities.
