Professor Takahiro Takei has received the Academic Award from the Society of Inorganic Materials, Japan.
Professor Takahiro Takei has received the Academic Award from the Society of Inorganic Materials, Japan. The award ceremony was held on June 4, 2026.
This award is presented to individuals who have published outstanding papers or valuable articles in the field of inorganic materials, achieved remarkable accomplishments, and contributed to the advancement of academic scholarship.
The title of the awarded work is “Application to Functional Materials Based on Ion Exchange in Inorganic Compounds and Their Reaction Mechanisms.”
This research elucidates various mechanisms of ion exchange in inorganic compounds and applies them to the development of functional materials. Through some analytical techniques including synchrotron radiation analysis and computer simulation, the study clarifies the methods and ion species involved in ion exchange, as well as the resulting porous structures, electronic structures, and material properties.
The findings are expected to enable broad applications, including adsorbents for various gases and ions, catalysts and photocatalysts, ion conductors, and electric capacitors.
Professor Takei has commented: “I am grateful for this recognition. The field of materials research advances at a rapid pace, and I hope to continue pressing forward in my research by continually incorporating new methods and approaches.”
