Starting 3rd Dose of the COVID‑19 vaccination for Care Workers at Facilities for Persons with Disabilities

 On Monday, February 7, 2022, the 3rd dose of COVID‑19 vaccination for care workers at facilities for persons with disabilities has started by the center for the Moderna COVID‑19 vaccination (organized by Yamanashi pref) in the University Hospital. In Japan, the omicron strain has been spreading, and there are outbreak clusters happening at many of facilities. Early 3rd dose of vaccination helps to prevent the occurrence of clusters in facilities and to reduce the pressure on the healthcare system. we were interviewed by many of the press on the start day.
 President Shinji Shimada said,” In facilities for persons with disabilities, the most important thing is to get vaccinated as soon as possible. We’ve administered more than 100,000 shots of COVID-19 vaccine. We are ready for 3rd dose of vaccination due to our experience.”
 The vaccination center plans to vaccinate the Moderna vaccine to 1,800 care workers at facilities for persons with disabilities from February 7 to 10.
 We will continue to concentrate our efforts on taking counter measures against COVID-19.
