Dr. Satoshi Omura Visits University of Yamanashi

　On Monday, September 29,2021, Dr. Ōmura, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2015, visited the Satoshi Ōmura Museum to be inspected a guide robot named “Sattochan”.
　This robot was developed to let visitors to learn more about the achievements of Dr. Ōmura by the project team from the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering (IP: Prof. Shinji Kotani)
　The robot, Sattochan is named by Dr. Ōmura. The name is derived from his nickname of childhood.
　Prof. Kotani  explained about the robot to Dr Ōmura, and then, showed how to operate it.
　Dr. Ōmura tried to order to “Sattochan” and got a guidance.
　After the inspection of “Sattochan”, Dr. Ōmura gave advices about the future of University of Yamanashi and exchanged opinions about the importance of education and research with Principle Shinji Shimada and executive directors.
