Prof. Hiroyuki Iijima was honored with the 2018 founder’s medal, Matsuyama Medal, of Japanese Society for Ocular Circulation.

 Professor Hiroyuki Iijima in Department of Ophthalmology was honored with the 2018 founder’s medal, Matsuyama Medal, on July 20th, 2018 during the 35th annual meeting of Japanese Society for Ocular Circulation held in Matsumoto city, Nagano, Japan.

 Matsuyama medal is conferred to the researcher who made a great contribution to Japanese Society for Ocular Circulation on the honor of the late Shuichi Matsuyama, who was the founder of the preceding society and made pioneer achievement in the field of ocular circulation.

 Professor Iijima was honored because of his many academic publications so far on ocular circulation and his contribution as one of the board members of the society since the beginning of Japanese Society for Ocular Circulation in 2004. He made an award lecture on the branch retinal vein occlusion, which is one of his life work studies.
