University of Ljubljana, Slovenija, Executives visited University of Yamanashi.

 On July 5^th and 6^th, the executives from University of Ljubljana, Professor Dr. Marin Copic, the vice-rector, Professor Dr. Dusan Suput, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Professor Marin Berovic from Department of Chemistry and Chem. Technology visited the University of Yamanashi.

 The main purpose of this visit is to deepen the mutual understanding of each other toward signing an agreement on academic exchange between the two universities.

 The delegate made a courtesy call on President Shimada on July 5^th at medical campus, and introduced overview and the features of University of Ljubljana. After the tour to the Hospital and the basic research lab, Dr. Suput gave a lecture on his study, “Cyanobacterial toxins and their effect on health”, to teachers and students of Faculty of Medicine.

 On July 6^th, the delegate visited Kofu campus and took an inspection tour to the Institute of Ecology and Viticulture, and Advanced Biotechnology Center. After the tour, Professor Berovic gave a lecture, “Advances in Cultivation of Medicinal Fungi Biomass and Pharmaceutical Compounds in Bioreactors”, to teachers and students of Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences. He also gave a lecture on “New Methods in Wine Technology and Process Engineering” as an invited lecturer for University of Yamanashi International Grape & Wine Seminar.

 The delegate from University of Ljubljana was very interested in the unique education and researches at University of Yamanashi and this 2-day visit layed a good foundation for further promoting the exchange and collaboration between the two universities.
