NHK University Seminar in University of Yamanashi was held

  On Monday, October 11, 2021, “NHK University Seminar in University of Yamanashi held” online.
 The purpose of NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) is to contribute to the university education through this event. It was the first time to be held “NHK University Seminar ” at University of Yamanashi.
 This Seminar cooperated with “Mt. Fuji studies” which was the regular classes teaching by Associate Professor Yasunori Hada in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.
 The Seminar titled “What is the true nature of the forest surrounding Mt. Fuji (Jukai) as seen by NHK TV program ‘BRATAMORI?’”
 Mitsuhiro Yoshimoto, a Senior Researcher at the Yamanashi Fuji Science Institute, (Visiting Professor of University of Yamanashi), Kenichi Ishihara, Chief Director from NHK’s Production Bureau, and Yusuke Kawazoe, Director form Propeller Co., Ltd., gave a lecture on the production of the TV program and the attractiveness of Jukai.
 In the second half of the seminar, the theme ” the Disaster Prevention related to Research on Mt. Fuji and Jukai ” touched on the danger of eruptions on Mt. Fuji, and explained that knowing the geology and the topography of Jukai and Mt. Fuji, as well as the location of the crater would lead to the disaster prevention.
 Associate Professor Hada said to the participating students,” BRATAMORI is a program that conveys the fun of walking around a city, and rediscovering new charms and history with a different perspective. By gaining knowledge from this seminar, I hope that you are able to see the familiar scenery differently and learn how to feel something from it.”
