Social Gathering for International Students and Researchers in 2018

　A social gathering for international students and researchers was held on Dec 4^th 2018 at Kofu Campus. About 170 people, including community representative, international students and researchers together with their family members, and university staff took part in the event this year.

　This annual event hosted by the President of University of Yamanashi, Dr. Shinji Shimada aims at deepening mutual understanding among the international students and researchers, university staff and community representatives.

　The gathering started with a welcome address by the President and followed by the speeches from Mr. Yuichi Higuchi, the Mayor of Kofu city and Mr. Hisao Tanaka, the Mayor of Chuo city. Two international students from China and Mongolia delivered their speech in Japanese to express their appreciation on behalf of all international students.

　All participants enjoyed Japanese and Halal dishes, a German Christmas song by German students and a chorus by the residents of international dormitory.
