12 students from Shengyang Pharmaceutical University visited University of Yamanashi

 From January 16th to 19th, 12 students from Shengyang Pharmaceutical University visited University of Yamanashi. Shengyang Pharmaceutical University and University of Yamanashi concluded the agreement on academic cooperation and exchange in 2015, and since then, the two universities have been promoting the exchange projects, including mutual visit of faculty members.

 On the first day, students had a campus tour followed by the orientation by Prof. Xiaoyang Mao, the Director of the Center for International Education & Exchange in the morning, and a Kofu city tour in the afternoon. Later that day, a small welcome party was held and visiting students enjoyed the conversations with the students of University of Yamanashi. From the 2nd day, the students participated in the lab tours and exchange activities at the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences.

 On the third day, the visiting students and the students of University of Yamanashi held a workshop on the so called “Food Loss” problem. All the students were divided into 4 internationally mixed teams. They shared information about food loss problems in Japan and China, and went on to find solutions considering culture and customs of each countries and made excellent presentations at the end.

 During the visit, they also enjoyed several Japanese culture experience activities such as Kimono-wearing and Tea ceremony in the university, and papermaking at Saiko Iyashino-Sato Nenba followed by a visit to Arakura Sengen Shrine during their excursion to Mt. Fuji area on the last day.
