University of Yamanashi Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Research (Zero Emission MIRAI Research Center) Faculty Recruitment – Research Assistant Professor

The University of Yamanashi was selected in FY2025 for the “Regional Core and Distinctive Research University Strengthening Promotion Project (J-PEAKS)” and has newly established the Zero Emission MIRAI Research Center as a core hub. This center aims to form a world-leading research hub in the field of materials and energy, with green hydrogen as its central focus.

One year that can be renewed based on performance

Job Description

The candidate will conduct research on PEM fuel cells and/or PEM water electrolysis. The candidate should have an excellent background in polymer chemistry, electrochemistry, and catalysis of fuel cell and/or water electrolysis, including preparation, characterization, and diagnosis.
The candidate will be engaged in joint research with Associate Prof. Dr. Mohamed Reda Berber, aiming for high-standard publications in academic journals.

Working Conditions and Treatment

Working hours: Discretionary labor system (deemed as 7 hours 45 minutes per day).
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, summer holidays, year-end and New Year holidays.

Qualifications

PhD degree in a relevant subject
(1) Qualifications: Researchers with PhD degree in a relevant subject and who have academic research experience in the above mentioned topics.
(2) Research Experience: At least 2 years
(3) The candidate must have sufficient English communication skills
