Summary

It has the possibility of transforming the present society to a richer and a more peaceful one. The key technology of information processing, the computer and information technology, therefore, has an important role in our social life.
The Department of Computer Science and Media Engineering has its mission in both academic research and graduate education in information processing. It conducts advanced research on information technology, computer science and their related fields. Moreover, it provides discovery and learning environments for people, who need to develop the skill of problem solving and analysis and design of information systems.
Pursuant to the mission, the Department offers advanced courses as well as resources and facilities to help students cultivate individual expertise such as creativity, flexibility and applicability on information processing. It strives to produce talented individuals, who serve as experts on multimedia information network, technological innovation of information technology, intelligent computer communication and the next generation information society.
Moreover, it serves the local communities - the alumnus working as IT business leaders and CEOs in Yamanashi area, It continues to acquire requirements and potential needs from the communities and provide their technical solution to the communities.
