General Description of the Department and the Course

The primary role of an anesthesiologist is the managements of patientsf whole body in the operating room. The members of our department attempt to keep the level of medical services higher than those of the national level. Therefore, each member of our department thrives on absorbing advancements in medicine through the meetings of medical societies and reading materials in order to improve the quality of our services.

We foster anesthesiologists which patients and surgeons can trust, and supply them to the community.

A strong emphasis in placed on the pain clinic, kampo Clinic, and post-operative pain-control and palliative medicine as well.

The Members of the Faculty (Area of Research)

Professor: Takashi Matsukawa (The effects of anesthetic agents on the body temperature and regulating mechanism, intraoperative management of the body temperature)
Associate Professor: Takeshi Oguchi (Ischemic heart and anesthetic agents, protamine and circulation, aging and anesthesia)
Associate Professor: Tadahiko Ishiyama (The protection of cerebral damage, cerebral circulation, ƒ¿2 agonist, cerebral microcirculation, obstetrical anesthesiology, epidural anesthesia and BIS monitoring)
Assistant Professor: Toshiaki Yamaguchi (Pain clinic, palliative medicine, neuropathic pain)
Assistant Professor: Katsumi Okuyama (Thermoregulation, pediatric anesthesia, cardiovascular anesthesia, safety management of perioperative anesthesia)
Assistant Professor: Tetsuya Iijima (Acute pain service, palliative medicine)
