Salient features and activities
In clinical services, we cover from neonates to the elderly patients and
provide them the most appropriate treatment as per the latest trend in
the medical field. Our past records make us enjoy a good reputation among
the public and medical faculty. Apart from the regular outpatient clinic,
our department also serves as a tertiary referral center and provides emergency
medical services, thereby contributing to the health care of the local
population.
Numbers of research projects are under way. Development of a new artificial vascular prosthesis jointly with the engineering department, medical applications of laser and near infrared ray technology, and the latest regenerative medicine are a few to mention among them.
Students of undergraduate and post-graduate medical and nursing schools
are given a standard education. Apart from the training in the basic curriculum,
they are also given an optimal exposure to the latest developments in the
above specialties. We had received some trainees from Asian countries in
the past as a part of our contribution to the international exchange.
