General description of the department
In the Third Department of Internal Medicine, we provide medical care,
conduct research, and carry out education with the motto of "physician
should be able to treat whole body". Our expertise encompasses metabolic
diseases including diabetes, endocrine disorders such as graves disease
and thyroid cancer, renal disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and other autoimmune
diseases. We have six out-patient clinics, which are （１） the Diabetic
clinic, （２） the Clinic for thyroid and endocrine disorders, （３） the
Clinic for hyperlipemia and obesity,（４） the Clinic for rheumatoid arthritis
and autoimmune diseases, （５）the Clinic for renal diseases, （６） the
Clinic for hypertension. Experts in each field are conducting medical practice
in order to provide first-class health care in the broader area. We also
have a close liaison with other departments that relate to patients' health
problems.
The department has been highly rated in the world as a research body. And we try our best to feed the achievement in our research back to our medical practice and education efforts.
