The Second Department of Internal Medicine, Yamanashi University School of Medicine, runs a division of cardiovascular diseases and a division of respiratory diseases for medical practice. The cardiovascular diseases division is divided to four groups, the group for ischemic heart disease, the group for arrhythmia, the group for cardiac arrest, and the group for research. The respiratory diseases division actively adopts chemical therapy and radiation therapy against airway bronchial asthma and lung cancer. The cardiovascular diseases division is eager to treat emergency cases. In particularly, coronary angiography and coronary angioplasty can be urgently performed in time of necessity. In both divisions, we make effort to contribute to the community health in both clinical work and research activities.
