Division of Medicine / Medical Science of Bioregulation

Summary

In Bio Regulation, we are aiming at the elucidation of various information handling systems of human and the understanding of these diseases by utilizing morphological, molecular cell biological, and molecular genetic techniques. The research of morphology of cell and organ systems, its abnormality, and a relationship to these functions as well as the research of functions such as nerves system and muscle and autonomic functions such as abdominal and thoracic viscera and blood vessels and a human controlling mechanism which adjusts these functions are conducted to elucidate and discuss about various diseases. Further, clinical application of result gained from the joint research with researchers in other fields is our goal.

Talent to be trained

We train medical researchers who possess insight into a life phenomenon, technicians, doctors, and researchers who can contribute to clinical applications of the research results. Therefore, students who learned in this course are expected to play active roles as researchers in educational research institutions such as universities and laboratories or as doctors and leaders in hospitals and welfare facilities.

Main research fields

  • Analysis of erythrocyte membrane change by cryotechnique
  • Neuro anatomy, Embryology
  • Studies on biological rhythms and programmed cell death of yeast
  • Pharmacology of cardiovascular drugs especially of antiarrhythmic drugs. Experimental disease models
  • Analysis of cyanide in blood by head-space solid-phase micro-extraction and capillary gas chromatography
